Ingredients
Pudding
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 100 g butter
- 1.5 cups milk
- handful dates, quartered
Sauce
- 60g butter
- 4 tbsp golden syrup
- 1 cup warm water
Method
- Preheat oven to 180 C. Grease small dish with some butter.
- Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
- Melt butter. Whisk in milk. Combine with dry ingredients.
- Melt butter in saucepan. Mix in golden syrup, then water.
- Scatter dates on bottom of dish. Dump pudding mixture on top. Pour sauce on top.
- Bake for 30 min. Cool for a few minutes before serving.
